A series of Acts and Legislations have been formulated by the Government of Mauritius to reinforce and modernise the legal and institutional structure for physical development planning, control and enforcement so that meaningful and lasting results can be achieved. The Morcellement Act, Town and Country Planning Act, Planning and Development Act, Building Act and Landlord and Tenant (Amendment) Act No.22 of 2017, for instance, are all geared towards achieving a more effective management and use of State Lands.
