To support and direct the development of housing projects, the Government of Mauritius provides considerable financial assistance and support, and other facilities. Syndics receive a financial assistance in the management of their respective syndics, for which Government is contributing Rs. 2 400 yearly per housing unit for 6 247 residents of 41 NHDC housing estates. Moreover, owners of ex-CHA housing unit who are facing difficulties in acquiring their plot of land are granted the land free of charge through a waiving of the purchase price of Rs. 2 000 and registration fees, while the fees for the Notary and for the survey of the plot of land are met by Government.
