The Primary Curriculum Framework has been developed within the broader perspective of the National Curriculum Framework for the Republic
of Mauritius along the lines laid down in the document issued in September 2006 by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources entitled “Towards a
Quality Curriculum – Strategy for Reform”.
The Primary Curriculum Framework provides teachers, parents and the community at large with a clear statement of what pupils are expected to achieve
at the end of their primary schooling and how they can best support the children. It also makes it possible for curriculum developers and teachers
to develop learning and teaching programmes which meet the needs of the pupils while at the same time responding to the needs of the country.
